Many good news!
So, I've many good news to tel you, although they are not releated to audio!
One of them is that, as an admin of androidarmv6, they leave me the honor to port BCM21553 drivers and devices configurations to androidarmv6 organisation! (Branch ics-plus).
For poeple that do not know what androidarmv6 organisation is, I'll make you an explanation:
Androidarmv6 is an origanisation created to bring latest android versions to armv6 devices (mainly msm7x27 devices). Those armv6 devices were discontinued by Google and by CyanogenMod when ICS was released. Androidarmv6 is the organisation that keeps this devices updated.
In other words, androidarmv6 is CyanogenMod for armv6 devices. And getting support from them (us) will improve alot (not ICS, but maybe Jelly Bean or KK). The porting to androidarmv6 repos will start after my exams are over...
Second new, Alberto96 has made a good work, and we have ported all the changes to BroadcomCM organisation. I've build the changes and test them. I can surely say that new version will be the SMOOTHER ROM ever made for BCM21553 devices. Also they are smaller fixes too, but for the moment, it is a nice work made by us! Everything as always on BroadcomCM github. Drivers still very unstable, lots of FCs, not yet prepared for release. Video? there you have it:
Another good new I have is the common kernel. It is not yet stable, and I have not tested on other devices. Everytime I tried to make a common kernel, the kernel resulting on not booting... and why? Because of bad vermagic verision! Thanks to Alberto96 and TheWhisp we have fixed bad vermagic (a bug which Rafael Bauguis fight alot with) and we can create new kernel versions without breaking modules loading! That's awsome, so commo kernel can be started.
And well, that's releated to the kernel too. I've succefully added some simple governors and I/O schedurels thanks to lopicl.00, he provide me the source. Also a new logarithm is added to create new frequencies (still need to be tested), at the moment 6 frequencies are added. NO OVERCLOCK is permitted on our board at the moment, so don't ask me that too.

But I think that You forget about Some Bcm21553 Dual Sim devices like Samsung Galaxy Y Duos and Samsung Galaxy Pocket Duos
Which are Still Popular in India....
So please give some support to these dual sim devices too...
And For Pocket Duos S5302 There is an Ics Open Source is Available... And You got New Drivers source from Broadcom (U made it possible) Which means now S5302 can handle android ICS ... So I requesting Your team that Plz Make a thing like Android ICS RoM For S5302 too...

ReplyDeleteHey Biel ! As i can guess We can now have a working camera beacuse camera is just not working due to camera HAL modle is not loaded and as you have said that in your karnel no module loading will be breaked ....i don't know i am wrong or right but thanks a lot biel for good news....

Erm, that's OK as long as we will have chances of having cm10 or 11(if possible) then I'll wait. But First let's expect a stable cm9 on broad com devices.

DeleteYeah about that I'm kinda developing a rom for galaxy y. (S4 and s5 rom) it is based on cyanogenmod rom so I'm kinda waiting for a stable release of cyanogenmod for galaxy . And this (me) kid is fifteen year old (kinda young developer)

When I use MX Player, when I used H/W decoder, it looks like when I play video in Stock Gallery ICS; and when I switched to S/W decoder, the colors are fixed. So I conclude that Stock Gallery ICS uses a H/W Decoder to play videos. So there's a bug in H/W decoder.
- Stock Gallery ICS Settings not work.
- Camera
- When I used Advanced Tools, the compass, magnetic sensor, earth magnetic sensor, protractor, and level are not work. So that, Magnetic Sensor is not working.
- Microphone
- Front Speaker
- When Bluetooth switch off, fc something come out (com.android.com)
- Data Connection not working/ 3G

3g works fine - check your apn settings

Internet Data Connection Using Telecom Network Provider is not working in my phone. When I switch on mobile data, no response for me. And when I go to Internet, nothing happens. And when I see my apn settings and access point, it was already automatically configured and all is check. I hope it will fix... Thanks all devs for this rom..

thanks to you biel with your company. Im very excited to the stable rom which can install and play games for ICS type of devices. Because when I'm installing game for IceCreamSandwich games it always gave me FC and if u uninstall it . it always reboot. SGY user. I really waiting for the official release.
ReplyDeleteYou won't be able to play these games because they're for armv7 and galaxy y has armv6i.
DeleteSome games are ported for galaxy y but u can expect lag...
if you have downloaded them from the play store and this happens this maybe due to the issue of data on the sd card - it has been reported that apps that have been moved or have data stored on the sd card cause the phone to reboot when the data is being read - the only way round this at the moment is to have all apps and data on internal storage

DeleteNo the playstore isnt kernel related. Theres a fix for this bug. Google lionelsuyog playstore fix there you will find it. Follow the instructions carefully so that it will be running as usual.
