Android temporary leaving
I was planning to do that soon, and I think its the best moment to do it by LOTS of reasons. My works during the past months was really hard and this last 3 summer months were really hard to develop. I've started school just today, and I've lots of personal things to do, not related to android development. I've to tell many things to those of the devices I develop for:
GALAXY ACE S5830
GALAXY ACE S5830
I will temporary stop 4.3 development, as I don't get the point of do so. 4.2.2 is stable enough and 4.3 does not introduce too many features, see you probably on 4.4 KitKat. Why 4.4? Because there is the rumor that 4.4 could run perfectly and without lags on 512 mb of RAM and also will be optimized for low end devices, so that will benefit us. See you soon dudes, I won't go out of androidarmv6 as there are users that can do my work there for now.
GALAXY ACE I S5830i
During this last 3 months, you were the center of my development, CM7 was the most important ROM on my Development, and it is by far stable. That's nice for me because our team, created by me and spacecaker, BroadcomCM, has become a big organization and we brought you the first pre-alpha 1 (not booting, and nothing working ROM) to the current version RC4. RC4 has more than 20 ROMs based on mine one, which is really great, and we, BroadcomCM, are proud of it.
About CM9, well I made my best, I used CM7 RC4 base to make Beta 1. Beta 1 is a great ROM it has everything not related to drivers working. Camera, Audio and HW are all DRIVER dependent, so we can not do much things since now. Hopefully Broadcom will tell something about our petition, but I'm not really sure about it.

The las change to get the BCM21553 common kernel was nearly stopped.
Lopicl made a great job on a script to do so, but it was not booting,
due to no time and my f*** bad PC, I have not time to do so.
UNUSUAL VORTEX COLOR
Does someone has this tab LOL. CM10 stable was done in a week, thanks to Chinese sources...
WHAT I ASK FROM YOUR PART?
Well I won't leave android development, I like it, my problem is my PC. It takes 8 hours to build a fresh CM9 and 4 hours to build a CM7. Multiply all the releases I made by the hours my PC worked. Without counting all the test builds I made and all my personal tests. With this I brought to you CM10.1, CM10 and CM9 for S5830 users and CM7 and CM9 for S5830i users, even a completly stable port of CM10 fro UNUSUAL vortex color.

Many people told me that if CM7 got stable build, they will donate me, or even I fix WIFI and calls on CM9 they will donate me... I'm still waiting this donations, I'm not telling you to donate me, but if you do, I'll invert it on new PC, which I really needed. Just to help me, and even help your device. With new PC we can even think to nightly LOCAL builds made on it. That's awesome, and I could try LOTS of different things to get the HW working on S5830i or even port 4.4 KitKat on s5830 users. Hope you will understand me, but since I will not buy new PC, I won't come back to android development, I've no time to do that, and there are things more important than that.
Biel i understand =/ why u don't make a litle compiling tutorial or "school" for the xda on s5830i section? i already downloaded sources, i compiled, but i don't know how to put the device tree, and i have an Intel Core I5 six core, 6 GB ram, and if necessary i can make dualboot to put ubuntu in first place, and, i have just 14, in Brazil i can't have an international credit card, realy, i don't have any card, but i want to donate u

There are tons of guides for compiling roms however what we did was fixing all issues and such and managed to get it stable by modifying device configs and such
ReplyDeleteour git is open and we will allow u to provide patches through pull requests.
our machine specs are low even i have less / same performance as biel and it takes ages to compile.
lets respect our buddy :D
I will not fucking cry, not fucking cry cry ................. shit, thanks for everything biel :')
ReplyDeleteIt's too soon to leave the CM9 development, we lack only 500 signatures and stop the development for our ace? I wanted the job completed when drivers BROADCOM release D:

DeleteAll the best for your coming life. KEEP MOVING FORWARD. You have always been the best. Thank You.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad. Basicly no money, no stable CM7... Good luck with your life and thanks.
ReplyDeleteBiel, i'm thinking in make vídeos about your roms in Brazil and the money with the ads will be to u and all the broadcomCM
ReplyDeleteYou are the best Biel, and I wish you good luck in school and also in your life. Congratulations on the CM10.1 for ace, it's perfect. I hope you come back soon, you saved my Phone. I will stay checking this site until you come back :) Thank you so much for everything.

Thank you for your inquiry. Broadcom Corporation licenses s/w to many 3rd party companies, who bundle our software with their devices. Unfortunately, some of them leave our support information in the software dialogs instead of replacing it with their own.
Each OEM provides vendor specific drivers for their particular device; therefore Broadcom cannot supply software upgrades. Our off-the-shelf versions of software would be unlikely to work with most OEM devices.
Please contact the manufacturer of your device to obtain software/upgrades.
DeleteIf you register on Broadcom forum, you can post a thread for Open Source of BCM21553 ? No ?
ReplyDeleteWhen KitKat?
ReplyDeleteMake 3 wipes, mount system, install kernel, cm 7.2, gapps = bootloop.
ReplyDeleteMake 3 wipes, mount system, install kernel then cm 7.2 = fine
Then I tried to flash gapps separately = market error.

ReplyDeleteWhy is this titled "Android Temporary Leaving" when it should have been "Android Permanent Leaving" ?
